A dual listing is a well-established pathway for companies seeking to broaden their market presence, offering increased liquidity, access to new pools of capital and extended stock trading hours across global time zones.
For growth-focused businesses, it can also enhance valuation potential, attract institutional investors and strengthen international credibility.
SPOKE client, ASX-listed Alliance Nickel (ASX:AXN), owner and developer of the NiWest Nickel-Cobalt Project in Western Australia, recently announced it is exploring a potential Nasdaq listing via a Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC) transaction.
The announcement follows an active 18-month period for Alliance, during which NiWest secured Major Project Status (MPS) from the Federal Australian Government, and the company released the project’s Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS).
The proposed listing marks an important opportunity for Alliance as it seeks to diversify its investor base and raise its profile in one of the world’s deepest and most influential capital markets.
Direct exposure to US equity markets would also position the company within an environment where critical minerals producers often achieve stronger valuations.
The catalyst, signing of the United States-Australia Framework For Securing of Supply in the Mining and Processing of Critical Minerals and Rare Earths on 20 October 2025, provided the perfect launching pad to promote Alliance’s pursuit of a Nasdaq listing.
To support the Company announcing its intentions in late October, SPOKE mobilised quickly, delivering a high-quality media campaign to ensure Alliance’s message reached the right audiences with maximum impact.
Working to a tight deadline, the team developed a targeted media distribution list spanning key capital markets, resources and business journalists in Australia and the US.
Direct journalist briefings were conducted to provide background and offer interview opportunities.
The team also prepared strategic messaging and concise briefing materials that clearly articulated the significance, scale and investment fundamentals of the NiWest Project.
Among them was a US-focused fact sheet, highlighting the opportunity presented to institutional and high net worth investors interested in critical minerals and the fresh bi-lateral agreement between the two nations.
The media strategy centred on framing NiWest as one of Australia’s most advanced, development-ready nickel assets and a project aligned with rising demand for energy-transition and battery-grade materials.
Our objective was to elevate Alliance’s visibility in the critical minerals sector, strengthen its presence among Australian and US investors, and reinforce NiWest’s significance within the global clean-energy supply chain.
SPOKE General Manager Josh Nyman said the six-week program prioritised clarity, relevance and a strong narrative, supported by traditional and digital communications channels.
“Our goal was to distil a complex exploration and development story into clear, compelling messaging that journalists and investors could quickly grasp,” he said.
“Investors want to know projects supporting the energy-transition are robust, both technically and financially, so our materials communicated that with precision.
“We also needed to explain the somewhat unusual SPAC pathway to a Nasdaq listing, and why it offered potential value growth for both existing and new investors.”
SPOKE’s rapid response and high-quality execution (which resulted in an interview with the AFR, coverage in The West Australian, swift marketing assets deployment and an overhaul of the company website) delivered cut-through at a pivotal moment.
It also leveraged SPOKE’s relationships with the government, putting Alliance representatives in front of relevant ministers, agencies and diplomats to share the new narrative with them and keep the NiWest Project front of mind.
“Alliance entering a new phase of its corporate journey demanded a strategic uplift in how and where the company tells its story,” Josh said.
“Effective communication helps shape perception, reinforce trust and support long-term growth with clear catalysts.”
He added that SPOKE was proud to support Alliance during such an important period for the company.
“Alliance has a compelling story, and we’re committed to ensuring it’s told with the prominence and professionalism it deserves,” Josh said.
