WA-based Platinum Group Metals (PGM) explorer Podium Minerals (ASX: POD) has its sights set on going platinum, and we’re not talking AMEX or Molly Meldrum style platinum. We’re talking unique critical mineral-classified Platinum Group Metals it has discovered at its Parks Reef Project in Western Australia’s Mid-West Shire of Cue.

Over the past two years Podium has expanded its mineral resource estimate to 6.0 million combined contained ounces of platinum, palladium, rhodium, iridium and gold. Platinum and Iridium in particular are in high demand in auto catalysts as well as PEM electrolysers for the production of green hydrogen for renewable energy. Within that is Australia’s largest platinum resource, an inferred 2.9 million ounces. The rest are nothing to snort at either, with iridium and rhodium worth more than double and triple the spot price of gold per ounce in current value terms.

As a value upside, the Company’s exploration efforts have also uncovered critical battery metals including 94,000t of copper, 127,000t of nickel and 24,000t of cobalt. All this discovered along a 15km strike just north of the highly accessible and historic town of Cue, within close proximity to Australian Vanadium Limited’s 239Mt mineral resource and Fenix Resources’ flagship Iron Ridge Project.

But don’t hear it from YIELD reporter Josh Nyman: hear it direct from the horse’s mouth. POD Managing Director Sam Rodda spills the beans on why this Company’s investment opportunity is so attractive.
