Josh Nyman

Josh is an experienced senior manager and strategist with a strong background in communications, media, government relations and stakeholder engagement.

Josh mastered the art of great storytelling as a journalist at Post Newspapers before moving to the Albany Advertiser, Western Australia’s longest-running newspaper, where he held the roles of Deputy Editor and Chief of Staff.

With strong ties to the community, Josh progressed his career into government relations as Senior Policy Adviser to then WA Government Minister Hon Mia Davies MLA. He served as Chief of Staff to Mia Davies during her tenure as the first ever female Leader of The Nationals WA and later, Leader of the Opposition. In these positions, Josh drove a range of parliamentary, policy, media and engagement strategies.

Josh has also honed his expertise in corporate communications and investor relations, while navigating the complex landscape of both private and public sectors. With a deep understanding of the challenges facing businesses and communities in Western Australia, Josh is adept at crafting tailored communication strategies that resonate with diverse stakeholders. He works closely with senior executives to communicate corporate vision and values, manage investor programs, and build strong reputations, even in challenging economic environments. Josh’s local knowledge combined with his strategic insight, allows him to address the specific issues organisations in Australia face, from resource-driven industry dynamics to community engagement in regional areas.

Josh also has extensive experience in crisis communications, providing strategic counsel and messaging to protect and enhance reputations during challenging times. He understands the critical importance of clear, consistent communication in managing public perception and minimising risk.

In his role overseeing SPOKE’s Australian operations, Josh leads with vision and purpose, helping shape the company’s continued success in its second decade of operations.
