High purity alumina, or HPA for short, is a high-value battery mineral, widely used in TV screens, LED lights, and lithium-ion batteries. Australian explorer Impact Minerals (ASX:IPT) has discovered it can cut operating costs by up to 50%, potentially making it the lowest-cost producer of HPA in the world. Managing Director Mike Jones spoke to YIELD shortly after revealing the news to the market in the Company’s first scoping study on its Lake Hope HPA Project.
